People with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often face many difficulties when trying to get dental care. These challenges are caused by their unique health needs, behavior differences, and trouble with communication. Many individuals with ASD need help from caregivers to keep up with daily routines like brushing and flossing, which may not always be done regularly. They may also have picky eating habits that increase the risk of tooth decay. In some cases, they may not be able to tell others when they are in pain or need help with a dental problem. Going to the dentist can be very stressful for people with ASD. The loud sounds, bright lights, and unfamiliar tools in dental offices can cause fear or anxiety. Some dental clinics are not set up to support patients with special needs, which makes the visit even harder. Also, many dentists and staff members do not have enough training to care for patients with autism. This paper aims to look at the problems people with ASD face in getting dental care and to suggest ways to make dental visits easier and better for them. Improving access and comfort can help people with ASD have healthier teeth and a better quality of life.
